Zamboanga City, March 4, 2025 – Barangay Licomo has officially included Nutri-Foods Micronutrient Powder (MNP) in its 120-day feeding program, expanding efforts to combat malnutrition with the support of the Zamboanga City Nutrition Office.

Located 67km from Zamboanga City, Barangay Licomo serves as the boundary between Zamboanga City and Zamboanga Sibugay. During the 1st Quarter Barangay Nutrition Committee (BNC) Meeting, local leaders reviewed the 2025 Barangay Annual Investment Plan and Barangay Nutrition Action Plan (BNAP). They prioritized the Dietary Supplementation Program, which supports infants under five months, as well as pregnant and lactating mothers.

Eric T. Bangkal, RND, FSCO, Nutritionist-Dietitian II, and Jacqueline Reville, Nutrition Officer-II, led the discussion on implementing these programs effectively. During the meeting, Philippine Nutri-Foods Corporation, in collaboration with the City Nutrition Office, introduced Nutri-Foods Micronutrient Powder to barangay officials. The discussion highlighted its role in improving children’s health, preventing nutrient deficiencies, and enhancing overall well-being.

By incorporating Nutri-Foods Micronutrient Powder into its feeding program, Barangay Licomo ensures that more children and mothers receive essential vitamins and minerals to support their nutrition and development.
